Getting married is as important a decision as any you will make in your lifetime.  Deciding how to go about it can be just as important.  You've waited a lifetime to plan your dream wedding and what most couples don't realize is that the actual planning is the fun part.

Be careful not to become one of those couples who have argued and stressed out over every little detail.  By the time their wedding day arrives, they're exhausted, ready to get it over with and not of the blissfully happy state they should be in for such an important day.

Start your planning early so you will never be forced into stressful last-minute decision making.  If you don't, you're going to end up making some costly mistakes that don't achieve what you've set out to do.  Early on, book important dates with the vendors  and the venues that are always in demand and sometimes difficult to get.  Once this is done, you can relax and move on to the important fun things such as dress shopping.

There's a lot to do so pace yourself, share your planning and shopping days with friends and family.  It's true what they say about two heads being better than one.  Believe it or not, a friend or family member may have a better idea than you have.  Be open to them.  I even suggest engaging in conversation with others that will be out shopping for their weddings.  There's nothing like the honesty of an impartial opinion.

By all means, pass around the duties that go into planning a wedding.  You cannot do it all yourself and that's especially true of the actual wedding day.  I cannot stress to you enough how important it will be to have someone there on the day of the wedding making sure that things go as they should.  This is not something that you or your family and certainly not your guests should have to be concerned with.  After all the time, money and decision making that went into planning your special day, don't you think it's now time to relax and enjoy every minute of your wedding day.
