The Photographer
A Special Experience
|
Who could be more important than the person that will document your wedding day in pictures.
This particular subject is sensitive for me because I doubt that any engaged couple anywhere has ever had or will ever be privy to the dedication and the determination that our photographers had on the day of my daughter's wedding.
I won't be referring you to any other photographers on this site so, let me tell you a little bit about why.
At a local bridal show, I ran into Donna Lasserre. She and her husband Burke (also affectionately referred to as "T Burke") had a photography business called West Side Images. I didn't know about their business until that day. You see, T Burke was born and raised in my husband's home town but had moved away after marrying Donna.
I was very happy to see someone that I could connect with in this particular business because I had been searching for a photographer for quite some time and I found them all to be very confusing with regard to their package pricing. When I discovered West Side Images the search was over. Besides the comfort of working with someone I knew, Donna provided me with a list of photography packages that were easy to understand and the prices were reasonable.
From that day on, it was smooth sailing.

But there was a problem. T Burke had been diagnosed with a life threatening disease. For the next several months, this young, vibrant, intelligent and extremely talented husband and father, with Donna by his side, began the fight for his life.
We talked about it only once and that was the day of my daughter's bridal portrait shoot. It was a beautiful afternoon and we were on the grounds of Live Oak Plantation. T Burke was feeling great that day and he and Donna took beautiful pictures all afternoon.
His words to me, well, I'll continue to keep them close to my heart, allowing them to surface only on days when I need some of the courage and determination that he carried with him every day of his life.

My daughter's wedding would be the final wedding that T Burke and Donna shared as a couple. If you have had any kind of experience at all in your life, then I think that it won't be difficult for you to imagine what kind of effort was required for this loving couple to fulfill the promise that they had made to our family, as a customer, and to themselves to make their dreams come true, just one more day.
This site is dedicated to Burke Lassere, Jr. (T Burke) and his loyal and courageous wife, Donna, without whom the pictures of my daughter's wedding such as those shown on this site would not have been possible.
